The hike starts off from the west side of the road about 200 - 300 meters north of the goat creek parking lot. The trail takes you through trees with a quick ascent.

This photo is a picture of the meadow just above the tree line. A marmot was seen at the right along the top of the ridge. Just to the left is the cliffs of East Rundle. After a break we walked towards the bottom of these cliffs.

This is a view to the west along the cliffs of East Rundle. Care must be taken because of loose rocks following from above. The fore front of the photo shows numerous cracks in the rocks.  Different guide books state that it is a technical climb to reach the summit. A scramble is not recommended to reach the summit.

This is an east view overlooking Canmore and the Bow Valley

from the same spot. What a great view it was.

Route Photo

The route photo to the left shows snow due to the time a photo was taken by Google. On July 17, 2010 we did not encounter any snow as showed by the meadow photo.
